Privacy notice

This notice explains what Skoolbeez Edutech Sdn Bhd collects when a school, a member of staff or a parent uses Skoolbeez KPM, Elite, Kinder, Campus, SSO, Library or PIBG, and what we do with it. It is written to sit alongside the Personal Data Protection Act 2010.

We collect three kinds of information. Account information such as name, role, school and email, given when an account is created. Operational information entered by the school in the course of running the product, for example attendance marks, exam results, invoices, loans and meeting minutes. Technical information such as sign-in times, device type and IP address, kept so we can secure accounts and investigate faults.

We use it to run the products the school has licensed, to support staff who contact us, to bill the school, and to keep accounts secure. We do not sell personal data and we do not use student data to train advertising or profiling systems.

Student data

The school is the data controller for student records. Skoolbeez processes that data on the school's instructions, under the licence agreement signed with the school. Where a school runs more than one Skoolbeez product, records are shared between those products so the same student is not entered twice. Sharing stops at the school boundary. One school cannot see another school's records.

Cookies

Skoolbeez products set cookies that keep a session signed in and remember the product a user last opened. Skoolbeez SSO sets an additional cookie so one sign-in works across the school's other products. Marketing pages use basic analytics to count visits. None of these cookies follow a visitor to other websites.

Figures, screens and product previews on this website are illustrative. Screens shown for products marked as coming soon, including Skoolbeez Campus, are design previews and may change before release. Nothing on this site is an offer, a warranty or a commitment to deliver a specific feature on a specific date.

Skoolbeez is a school management tool, not a legal, financial or academic advisory service. Reports produced by the products are only as accurate as the data entered by the school. Schools remain responsible for what they submit to any ministry, district office or auditor.

Skoolbeez is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of Kementerian Pelajaran Malaysia. The product name Skoolbeez KPM describes the schools it serves, not an official ministry system.

Product terms

Each product is licensed to one school or institution for the term stated in its order form, priced on student numbers. Licences renew annually unless either side gives 30 days notice. Products are licensed separately, so ending one does not end another.

Schools are responsible for keeping staff accounts accurate, removing leavers, and for anything done under an account they issued. We are responsible for keeping the service available, for backups, and for telling the school without undue delay if a security incident affects their data.

Planned maintenance happens outside Malaysian school hours wherever possible and is announced in the product beforehand.

Schools own the data they enter. Nothing in a licence transfers ownership of school data to us, and nothing transfers ownership of the software to the school. Press and partners may use the Skoolbeez logo unaltered to refer to the products. Ask us first for anything else.
